This item is almost 10" wide end to end. The large circle is 6.25" in diameter; the small circle is 4.75" in diameter. The sizes of the circles are rather large for coaster/ash tray combination, so the purpose of this item is not clear. The wheel pattern in the smaller circle is common in glass coasters, such as those made by Cambridge. Perhaps it is for a mug and cookie or biscuit or after dinner cordial and coffee and cigarette--a small snack tray.
